APPLICATION PROCESS FAQS

How does the application process work?

Have you found an interesting position at Beiersdorf? If so, apply online directly. Please note that we will no longer consider applications by mail or email. Your online application will be closely examined by our Human Resources department and by the appropriate department. If your qualifications match what we're looking for, we'll invite you to a face-to-face interview. If this interview is successful, it'll be followed by a second,more in-depth meeting. Depending on the position,this may all be preceded by an interview on the telephone (duration: approx. 45 minutes), which we would inform you about in good time.

What's the application process for interns?
As soon as you've submitted your online application, you'll receive automatic confirmation that the application has arrived. If, after five weeks, you haven't been informed whether you've been accepted for an interview or rejected, you'll receive an intermediate reply. As many positions involve more than one team, we show your application to several different managers in succession. If you are accepted as an intern elsewhere during this time, please notify us and withdraw your application. You can, of course, re-apply at a later date.

Is it possible to work as a legal intern (Rechtsreferendar/in) with you?
Yes, you can complete a part of your legal clerkship (Anwaltsstation/Wahlstation) with us. Please proceed to Internships and Legal affairs / licenses / patents to look for application possibilities.

Can I interrupt my application and then continue at a later point in time (for registered applicants)?
After registering with the Applications Assistant, you'll receive an email with the log-in data for your application account. This allows you to exit the Applications Assistant at any time. You may return at a later point in time to continue with your application. The data that you have submitted before the interruption will, of course, remain saved.

I've already submitted one application. Can I apply again?
You can re-apply even if your last application was unsuccessful. However, please compare the requirements for the position with your own personal profile and then only apply when you are certain that you fulfill these requirements.

What happens if I withdraw my application?
If you no longer wish your application to be considered, please withdraw it. You can, of course, re-apply at any time.

Why does Beiersdorf only accept online applications?
Online applications are economical for all involved: You don't require an application dossier, you don't have any postage costs and you can keep up to date with what's happening to your application at any time – and we can process your application much more quickly.
What's more, you can register at our Career Center if there are no positions that are currently of interest to you. Not only can you use your profile to apply for vacancies at Beiersdorf, but we can also inform you about interesting positions via email.

What is a reference code?
As several different positions often have a similar or identical name, they are also assigned a reference code. This enables each individual position to be clearly and easily indentified. The reference code is at the end of the job description in all job advertisements, both online and offline.

What do I need to observe when making an application?
You should include your most-recent higher education or school certificates as well as professional references or samples (if available) in digital form. If you wish, you can also attach a recent photograph of yourself.

What happens if I change my profile while my application is still being processed (for registered applicants)?
Any changes you make to your profile come into effect immediately and will also be transferred to previous and ongoing applications. However, still make sure that enter your data as carefully as possible before submitting your application.

What should I attach to my application?
In addition to a completed online application form, we also require copies of all relevant documents (e.g. your school certificates and professional references). Please upload these documents as an attachment via our system. (More information on permitted file formats can be found in "Technical FAQs").

What should I include in my application for an internship?
Please be sure to include your High School Leaving Certificate, any relevant intermediate diplomas or degree certificates, an overview of your grades so far and all professional/intern references.

How does the online application process work?
In the "Situations Vacant" section, you can look for vacancies that match your chosen criteria. When you've found a suitable position, you can apply directly online. If you already know the reference code for the position, you can enter it under the menu item "Apply Directly" and then submit your application.

Where can I see the current status of my application?
Log in to the Beiersdorf Career Center under the menu item "Your Profile". In the "My Applications" section, you'll find the current status of your application. Alternatively, we can inform you via email.

Can I apply for a position abroad?
To apply for a position abroad, please contact the relevant Beiersdorf subsidiary directly. A list of all subsidiaries is available at "About Us – Beiersdorf Worldwide".

Who can view the data that I've submitted?
Your data can be viewed only by Human Resources staff at Beiersdorf - and only if your profile is unblocked. If you have applied for a position, the relevant specialists can also view your data. Apart from that, you are the only person who can access your data.

How long will my data remain stored?
If you have approved your profile in the Career Center, it's you, and only you, who decides how long the profile should be available. When you decide that you don't want your profile to be accessible, you can block – and you are then no longer "visible" for us. Alternatively, you can delete your entire registration – which means your data is also deleted for us. However, if you delete your entire registration, you'll have to re-enter all relevant data if you wish to apply at Beiersdorf at a later date.

BEIERSDORF CAREER CENTER FAQS

What is the Beiersdorf Career Center and what benefits does it offer?

The Beiersdorf Career Centre offers you the opportunity to send your profile to our Human Resources department here at Beiersdorf so that we can then contact you if one of our vacancies is suitable for you. The advantage for you is that you can update your personal data at any time. For example, if you gain additional qualifications in the meantime, you can simply adapt your profile accordingly.
If you don't want Beiersdorf to contact you for a while, you can temporarily block your profile in the Career Center under "Candidate Profile - Block/Unblock Profile". While your profile is blocked, Beiersdorf will not access your data. You can unblock your profile at any time.

Anybody who's interested in direct entry to the world of work at Beiersdorf. Whether you're just starting out, you've already gained professional experience or you're looking for a position with managerial responsibility - simply sign up at the Beiersdorf Career Center.

Can my profile be unblocked automatically?
No. Only you can unblock your profile. And only then can our Human Resources department view your data in the Career Center.

TECHNICAL FAQS

Which browsers are supported?

The Beiersdorf Career Center and Online Recruiting system is optimized for the following browsers: Internet Explorer (>=6.0), Mozilla Firefox (>=1.0), Mozilla Browser (>=1.7.5), Mozilla Netscape (>=7.01). Other browsers are not supported. If you are using Opera you can easily enhance the compatibility by adjusting your user settings (see Support document).

What does Tell a Friend mean and how can I use this option?

Use "Tell a Friend" to forward employment opportunities to friends, family etc. Enter the name amd the e-mail address of the recipient and they will receive an email with the link to the employment opportunity.

If you are registered and have already created your profile in our Career Center you have the option to receive a copy of this e-mail.

What should I do if I've forgotten my password for the log-in area?
Go to "Your Profile" in the log-in area, click on "Forgotten Your Password?" and enter your username and/or the email address that you submitted when registering. Within a few minutes, you'll receive a new password, which you'll need to change the next time you log-in.

What should I do if I can't access the system and an error message appears?
Are you still online? Is your internet connection still active? Are pop-ups or JavaScript deactivated in your browser? Take a look at our Help document. Using Internet Explorer as an example, this document shows you how to activate the appropriate functions in your browser. If this doesn't work, contact our Technical Support (Hotline: +49 (0) 40 4909-2929, Monday-Friday, 6 am – 9 pm)

Which formats and file sizes are suitable for document upload?
Next to MS Word, you may also use attachments in pdf, jpg or gif format. Please do not upload more than 3 MB altogether ZIP-files or password protected files as they cannot be processed!

What is a suitable format for my application photo?
To ensure that your photo is displayed correctly, it must be saved in Bitmap (bmp) format, preferably with a resolution of 200 dpi and with a maximum length/width of 45 mm.

Why does the email that you sent me contain rather unusal formatting?
Whether emails are displayed correctly or not depends on the provider you use to access your mails. The PDF document attached to the mail contains all information in the correct form.

What should I do if I've forgotten my username?
If you've forgotten your username, please contact our Technical Support using this email form. They will then get in touch with you as quickly as possible.
