1882 Paul C. Beiersdorf gets the patent No. 20057 for his "gestrichenes Pflaster" granted. The so-called "gutta-percha" plaster allows a precise dosage of medication to the skin. This date marks the formation of the Beiersdorf AG. Professor Paul Gerson Unna, a leading dermatologist of this age, was a good cooperation-partner of Paul C. Beiersdorf and inspired the new company with results from his basic research.
