  • The annual Research & Development budget is around 150 million Euros

 

  • More than 570 people work in the field of Research & Development at Beiersdorf AG around the world – approx. 450 of these at the international Skin Research Center in Hamburg.

 

  • In 2005, Beiersdorf set up a special Asia laboratory in Hamburg. It specializes in the development of skin care products for Asian consumers that satisfy their needs under the local climatic conditions. A Latin America laboratory was opened in 2007 to develop products for Brazil and other Latin and South American countries. Since 2008, Beiersdorf has a lab where special natural cosmetic products are developed.

 

  • Beiersdorf has an international research network and is involved in over 500 research partnerships with universities, research institutions, and start-ups.

 

  • "Pearlfinder" was founded 2010 in the process of Beiersdorf’s international „Open Innovation“-Initiative, to raise the innovative strength of the company. In January 2011, the corresponding Pearlfinder online platform was launched. It is a confidential network, where companies, institutes, and universities around the world, can share their ideas with the Beiersdorf researchers.

 

  • In 2009, two years after takeover from Beiersdorf, the research and development Center of C-BONS Hair Care, now one of the affiliates in China, became part of our global research and development network. Further development units are located in the United States and Japan.
