“Corporate Governance” means responsible company management and supervision that aims to achieve long-term value enhancement. It increases the transparency of the statutory and company-specific conditions for the management of listed companies and hence promotes the confidence of investors, customers, employees, and the general public in this regard.

The "Government Commission on the German Corporate Governance Code" published the "German Corporate Governance Code" on 26th February 2002 and resolved further amendments to individual recommendations and suggestions since then. In future, the Government Commission will continue to track the development of Corporate Governance in legislation and practice, and will review the need for any amendments to the Code at least once a year.
