Data Scientist NIVEA (f/m)

Your Tasks
  • Select and apply appropriate statistical methods, machine learning, and computing methods to large-scale data
  • Develop advanced analytical methods for decision support across various business functions
  • Take responsibility for preparing data for analysis, review data preparation/ETL code and provide critical feedback on issues of data integrity
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytical systems
  • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
  • Share knowledge by clearly articulating results and ideas to managers and key decision makers
  • Stay current with the latest analytical tools and technology, enhance the actual technology stack and communicate your knowledge across the analytics team

Your Requirements
  • University degree Information Systems, Mathematics, Data Science, Business
  • At least 2 years working experience
  • Excellent applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, predictive analytics as well as basic knowledge of machine learning techniques
  • Experience with data visualisation tools
  • Proven scripting and programming skills in at least 1 of the following: Python, R, Java
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to analyse and understand business data; comfortable presenting actionable results in a way the business understands and can act on
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Enthusiastic and curious about learning new tools & technologies
  • Great communication skills


  • Experienced in working with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, Spark ecosystems)
