Since 2023, Beiersdorf Manufacturing Leipzig (BML) has been an important part of Beiersdorf AG’s success story. With an investment of around €300 million, the company has built a state-of-the-art production site that sets new standards in cosmetics manufacturing and logistics. The project is co-financed through public funds based on the budget adopted by the Saxon State Parliament. The twelve-building site includes modern production halls, laboratories, offices and a high-bay warehouse, and produces deodorants for the entire European market. 

Around 280 employees from a wide range of nationalities currently work across five production lines, ensuring a reliable supply for retail partners and pharmaceutical wholesalers. At full capacity, the site can produce up to around 1.5 million deodorants per day. Products are manufactured for brands including NIVEA, NIVEA MEN, Hidrofugal, 8x4 and Hansaplast. In addition, a highly automated logistics center is currently being built nearby, with a strong focus on sustainable transport solutions and climate-neutral operations.

The Leipzig site stands for future-oriented and climate-neutral production. Photovoltaic systems, green roofs and façades, as well as an on-site wastewater treatment plant, highlight our clear commitment to environmental responsibility and the long-term reduction of our CO2e footprint. With this new facility, we build on Beiersdorf’s more than 140-year legacy as a pioneer in modern skincare — and carry it forward through innovation and sustainability. Beiersdorf Manufacturing Leipzig is a milestone for the company and a strong signal of progress and responsibility.
