Beiersdorf Chooses Winners of the 2015 Innovation Competition

As part of in-cosmetics, the world’s largest trade fair for cosmetic ingredients, last night Beiersdorf crowned the three winners of this year’s Beiersdorf Innovation Pitch in Barcelona. The winners are AZELIS Deutschland Kosmetik GmbH for a cross-industry approach to new sensorial experiences, SILAB S.A. for a new active ingredient for compromised skin and SYMRISE AG for an innovative formulation platform. Now the distinguished companies have the chance to continue to develop their promising projects under the umbrella of Beiersdorf’s strong brands NIVEA and Eucerin. A total of 46 exhibitors submitted their ideas for the competition.

Beiersdorf Strengthens Open Innovation Initiative with Relaunch of Pearlfinder

Today Beiersdorf has launched a revised version of it’s open innovation platform Pearlfinder. As of now it is even easier for registered users to hand in innovative ideas and to get in touch with Beiersdorf scientists. The relaunch further strengthens the open innovation initiative of the NIVEA producer. Whether scouting new raw materials and technologies or sharing creative innovation ideas: Pearlfinder has been successfully connecting external cooperation partners with Beiersdorf researchers for a good four years.

New microscope technology revolutionizes skin-aging research

The awarding of the Nobel Prizes on December 10th will be cause for special celebration this year for Beiersdorf researchers because this time the highest scientific prize will also be given to a cooperation partner of the NIVEA producer: Professor Stefan Hell, Director of the Göttingen Max Planck Institute for biophysical chemistry will be awarded with the Nobel Prize in chemistry along with Eric Betzig and William Moerner from the U.S. for the groundbreaking invention of STED microscopy.
