Global Critical Illness Policy – Beiersdorf’s commitment to support in moments that matter

Some moments in life change everything. Facing a life-threatening illness is undoubtedly one of them. At Beiersdorf, we stand by our employees during such challenging times. With our global Critical Illness Policy, launched in 2024, we provide security and support when it’s needed the most – for those affected and their families.

Providing Security in Times of Uncertainty

A severe diagnosis such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, or a stroke often brings uncertainty and concern. Our Critical Illness Policy establishes global minimum standards designed to address gaps in social security systems worldwide. This ensures our employees can focus on what truly matters: their recovery.

Beiersdorf Critical Illness Policy

Our policy includes the following key measures:

Financial stability and job security for employees facing life-threatening diseases for up to 1 year after diagnosis.
• Up to 10 days of bereavement leave for all employees.
• Up to 10 days compassionate leave for primary caregivers.
Personalized work accommodation and reintegration support.

OUR CARE CULTURE

Care is one of Beiersdorf’s Core Values and a cornerstone of our culture. With our global Critical Illness Policy, we reaffirm our commitment to solidarity across our company for every employee worldwide. Alongside practical support and preventive guidance, we aim to build trust, reduce stigma around severe illness, and enable open dialogue. This commitment includes training and awareness for employees as well as partnerships with expert organizations to provide advice and resources.

“Life-threatening diseases can affect any of us and represent some of life's toughest challenges. With our Critical Illness Policy, we aim to ensure that our employees can rely on their job security and financial stability, no matter the local security system. This is more than a policy; it is our heartfelt promise to stand by each other, living our Core Values of Trust and Care every single day.”

A Pledge for a more inclusive Future

As one of the founding partners, Beiersdorf proudly signed the “Working with Cancer Pledge” initiated by Publicis Groupe in 2023. Through this pledge, we are dedicated to raising awareness of cancer and other severe illnesses, giving a voice to those affected, and actively countering workplace stigmatization.

Together, we stand for an open, inclusive, and supportive corporate culture – for our employees and their families.
