“There is no better chance than this”

 “Oh my god, it’s a different scale” – that’s how Jantima Chukeatwattanakul summarizes her impressions when she first came to work in Hamburg. Coming from Thailand, the young woman has joined the Derma Global Business Unit (GBU) last year and works as a Junior International Brand Manager for Eucerin Sun.

Luis Garcia and Sitara Panikar have already made this professional experience. They both spent some time in the GBU in Headquarters, before taking the next step and moving to positions in the USA and India respectively. Luis Garcia, who is now Marketing Director Eucerin in the US, looks back: “All those experiences were extremely enriching. In an interconnected world, it is crucial that you get to work with people from many cultures and backgrounds and to get to know the global perspective.”

Sitara Panikar, who works in India as Director for Marketing and Commercial Excellence, underlines this: “You can really step change your career with a step into GBU – it enriches your knowledge of key processes, helps you to network and exposes you to global initiatives.

In the interview, they talk about their ambitions, the differences between the work in an affiliate and in the GBU and the need for dedicated “home-grown” talents who take the chance to look BEYOND the horizon.

Ines is responsible for the communication around our Pharmacy and Selective Brands like Eucerin, Hansaplast and La Prairie within the Corporate Communications team. Prior to this task, she worked on various communication topics for Beiersdorf – including HR, Strategy, R&D and Finance – and became an expert in the area of Issues Management and Crisis Communication. In addition, she manages the network of our PR Managers worldwide. Just recently, she spend some months on a short term assignment at Beiersdorf in France – another great international experience.
