Beiersdorf now offers COVID-19 vaccination for neighbors in Eimsbüttel, Hamburg

With immediate effect, people who live near the Hamburg company can also be vaccinated against COVID-19 at Beiersdorf’s vaccination station at Quickbornstraße 24. Since the opening of the vaccination station on June 8, 2021, the company medical service in cooperation with the German Red Cross Hamburg-Eimsbüttel has already administered more than 3,800 vaccinations and is offering up to 200 vaccination appointments per day for first and/or second vaccinations until the end of August 2021, depending on demand.

“As already announced at the vaccination launch, we are now also making a vaccination offer to the people of Eimsbüttel,” says the head company physician Dr. Jörg Busam. “With this, we want to further support the nationwide vaccination campaign #aermelhoch. An offer that will hopefully also help to increase the vaccination rate in the city in view of the new school year and the rising infection figures again,” Busam explains.

Anyone interested in receiving a first and/or second vaccination at the Beiersdorf Vaccination Center should contact them directly (see below). “The team will get back to you promptly with a proposed appointment,” Busam promises. “There are often postponements or cancellations of appointments, so we can always offer free appointments at short notice, often on the same day, in order to be able to vaccinate as many prepared vaccine doses as possible,” Busam explains the procedure, adding, “However, if demand remains high, ‘neighborhood vaccination days’ are also conceivable.”

At the Beiersdorf vaccination station, all people living in Eimsbüttel who are 16 years of age or older can be vaccinated. For more information on the possibility of vaccinating 16- and 17-year-olds, see the info box below. The vaccine is provided by BioNTech/Pfizer.

The Beiersdorf vaccination station is located at Quickbornstraße 24 and will be open until August 31, 2021, usually Monday through Friday from 9-12 a.m.

Information on the possibility of vaccinations for 16- and 17-year-olds:
Since the extended approval of the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine for children 12 years of age and older, the STIKO (Standing Commission on Vaccination) has again addressed the vaccination of children and adolescents and has so far recommended vaccination only for children and adolescents with previous illnesses. However, the Hamburg Senate recently decided, in view of the approaching end of the vacations and the spread of the new variants, to offer vaccination to those over 16 as well – according to their own individual decision. As this is a vaccination outside the recommendations of the Standing Commission on Vaccination, any questions should be discussed with the young people in advance. At Beiersdorf, therefore, adolescents aged 16 and older can also be vaccinated. “Decide in families, as parents together with your young people, whether vaccination is an option and obtain as much information as possible before booking the appointment,” recommends Beiersdorf AG’s Head Company Physician, Dr. Jörg Busam. “At the vaccination station, we also offer a medical educational talk, where possible open questions can be discussed. However, families should please make the basic decision for the Corona vaccination together before the appointment.”

Please note when vaccinating 16- and 17-year-old adolescents:
All responsible custodians must consent to the vaccination. A responsible custodial person must always be present at the vaccination appointment. No vaccination can be given without a custodial person accompanying the child. If the child is younger than 16 and you are considering vaccination, please contact your treating pediatricians and adolescents for a vaccination offer.
