UPDATE
26.8.2021
The
Ständige Impfkommission (STIKO) updated its previous assessment on Aug. 16,
2021, and issued a general COVID-19 vaccination recommendation for 12- to
17-year-olds. “In view of the STIKO recommendation, we will therefore keep
the vaccination station open into September to offer employees and residents*
the vaccination of their children and adolescents from the age of 12,” said Dr. Jörg Busam, Head Company Physician at Beiersdorf AG. Consultation and,
if necessary, vaccination will be carried out by doctors with extensive
experience in pediatrics and adolescent medicine at Beiersdorf’s vaccination
station in cooperation with the German Red Cross (DRK). The vaccine is supplied by BioNTech/Pfizer.
It remains an individual and voluntary decision to accept the vaccination
offer. The decision for or against vaccination should be made by the parents or
guardians together with the children or adolescents. The Beiersdorf vaccination
center is located at Quickbornstrasse 24 and will remain open until September.
Information on the possibility of
vaccinations for kids and teens
On
Aug. 16, 2021, the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) updated its
previous assessment on and issued a general COVID-19 vaccination recommendation
for 12- to 17-year-olds.
At Beiersdorf, therefore, kids and teens (12 years and older) can also be vaccinated. “Decide in families,
as parents together with your young people, whether vaccination is an option
and obtain as much information as possible before booking the
appointment,” recommends Beiersdorf AG’s Head Company Physician, Dr. Jörg
Busam. “At the vaccination station, we also offer a medical educational
talk, where possible open questions can be discussed. However, families should
please make the basic decision for the Corona vaccination together before the
appointment.”
Please
note when vaccinating children and teens:
All responsible custodians must consent to the
vaccination. A responsible custodial person must always be present at the
vaccination appointment. No vaccination can be given without a custodial person
accompanying the child.
