Your Tasks

Job Purpose


The Shopper & Customer Marketing Manager develops channel and shopper strategy for Eucerin and Elastoplast with focus on maximizing Net Sales, Market Share, Category Growth and POS presence and visibility. Collaborates closely with Marketing, Customer and Field Team to implement strategies.


• Owns shopper understanding and defines go-to-market plans by Category, by Retail Environment (RE) for Sub Saharan Africa.
• Builds and drives the implementation of the 4P’s targeted execution to ensure that a clear Picture of Success (PICOS) is delivered to win the primary shelf and the impulse shopper by Category and by RE.

Principle Accountabilities

1) Planning
• Support the mapping of the needs of all activation markets and incorporate it into lead market workstreams
• ABP/ Fast Start/ Business reviews: Align and build S&CM workstreams for Category/RE
• S&OP: Build SA forecast for Category/RE
• PICOS, POSM, Selling Story, Forecasts (SA) and Tracking (SA).

2) Commercial operations
• POSM: Design all POSM for Category/RE as directed by PICOS
• Pricing: Build, together with the Shopper Category Insights & Analytics, comprehensive pricing guidelines by Category/RE
• Promo: Design, together with pricing and promo team, comprehensive promotion guidelines and thematics by Category/RE. Agile mind-set to intervene competitiveness based on competitor benchmark. Promotional management also covers zooming in on individual promotions (pre- and post-evaluation) to improve effectiveness and efficiency per promotion.
• Insights: Build, collect and communicate insights by Category/RE.

3) Customer Engagement: Direct & Indirect
• Presentations: Support Sales with S&CM content for JBP/T2T presentations by Category/RE
• Engagement: Support Sales with category information/insights as needed by Category/RE
• Performance Management: Understand category performance by Category/RE and work with markets in the cluster on identified issues/opportunities.

4) Store Execution
• Field immersion: Do trade visits to verify retail context and collect information / insights about execution, trends and competitors
• Trax: Build quality content (MSL, Primary shelf KPIs).
• Design and strategy of POSM

Your Profile

Education- Tertiary qualification (BCOM/BA/IMM).

Requirements- At least 5 years of experience in Marketing, Sales or Shopper Marketing/Trade Marketing areas, preferably FMCG company. Good knowledge of Sub Saharan Africa retail landscape and multi-channel experience preferred
