Various facets of our Marketing & Sales departments in Headquarters are awaiting you – be it local and global Marketing, Key Account Management or E-Commerce. You design your own trainee program and choose departments according to your interests – also your step abroad in one of our 150 affiliates. Apart from that, you are part of an international trainee network working together on cross-functional projects and being supported by development measures such as trainings and mentoring. Are you ready for our trainee program?

We are looking for:

  • Graduates in Business administration or Economics, ideally with a major in the area of Marketing/Sales and an outstanding GPA
  • Min. 6 months of practical experience through appropriate internships
  • Min. 6 months of experience abroad gained within your studies or internships
  • Fluency in English, basic knowledge of German is recommendable


  • Strong analytical skillset
  • Social & intercultural skills enabling you to work in a multicultural environment
  • Enthusiasm for brands and consumer goods
  • Ambition for an international career
  • Desire to take over managerial responsibilities

Steps of the BEYOND BORDERS Marketing & Sales program

  • BEYOND BORDERS – Marketing & Sales

    Local Business Unit (4 months)

    For your first step you will gain operational experience in one of our local departments. You could begin in Marketing, where you’ll dive into topics such as market analysis and product (re)launches as well as product development and pricing. Another option is to start your traineeship in Shopper & Customer Marketing, where you’ll take responsibility for the development of sales concepts and promotions. Alternatively, you could learn to evolve customer-oriented concepts with our retail partners in Sales/E-Commerce.

  • BEYOND BORDERS – Marketing & Sales

    Global Business Unit (4 months)

    Step two will see you working in one of the strategic departments at our Headquarters in Hamburg. There you will get to know how we develop international brands, products and marketing strategies. In our global departments, such as Global Marketing and Sales, you will work closely with our affiliates and other intermediaries such as agencies, R&D and packaging development. This will strengthen your skills in dealing with different suppliers and partners.

  • BEYOND BORDERS – Marketing & Sales

    International posting (6 months)

    While bringing your experience to our teams abroad, you will gain new perspectives on our business from a local point of view. Working in local Marketing or Sales will sharpen your awareness of cultural differences – an essential skill for leading people in a global and customer-oriented company such as Beiersdorf.

  • BEYOND BORDERS – Marketing & Sales

    Cross-functional assignment (4 months)

    This final step is when you literally go beyond borders, rounding up your business understanding by getting to know other departments that interest you such as corporate development where you’ll work closely with our board members. Other options include departments such as Global Market Intelligence and Innovation.

  • Local Business Unit (4 months)
