Your Tasks

The Global D2P Manager is a newly established, specialized role aimed at managing and streamlining the artwork process across all stages of the design-to-print lifecycle. This role
ensures high-quality execution of packaging artwork while collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Brand Management, Brand Identity, Packaging Development, Supply Chain and external agencies. The D2P Manager will be the subject matter expert for artwork- related tasks, providing expertise to improve efficiency, ensure compliance, and deliver
exceptional results.
This position is critical to achieving a seamless and optimized artwork workflow and will play a key role on the road to automation.
In the first few months you will not focus on project management, but rather on setting up the structures for the new D2P organization and creating the basic foundations for it. We will be concentrating on the technical onboarding of a new artwork agency and the introduction of pre-press in the agencies, as well as the creation of die-cuts and technical templates. Another
key task will be to train colleagues who are less experienced in printing technology to be able to e.g. evaluate color separations and recommend the most suitable printing technology.

Artwork Management

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end artwork process, including D2P Kickoff preparation, master artwork management, and approval workflows.
  • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all artwork-related inquiries, serving as the bridge between internal stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, Brand Identity, Packaging Development) and external partners (agencies, printers).
  • Steer approval and validation of artwork content to ensure alignment with brand guidelines, legal requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Facilitate the review and approval of color proofs and samples to ensure print accuracy and quality.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with Brand Managers, Brand Identity and Packaging Development to maintain consistency in visual execution across product categories.
  • Coordinate with agencies, printers, and local markets to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to artwork development or execution.
  • Reconciling Marketing interests with the technical capabilities of the Print Supplier
  • Support cross-departmental training on artwork processes and standards, where applicable.

Process Optimization

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce lead times and improve quality through best practices and advanced tools.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines and budgets for all artwork projects.

Compliance and Quality

  • Guarantee artwork compliance with regulatory and legal standards (e.g. claims and safety information).
  • Work closely with print technical experts in Artwork Agencies and Print Suppliers to ensure artwork translates seamlessly from design to printed packaging.

Your Profile

  • Training as a production graphic designer or a strong technical background in print production/pre-press/packaging design
  • 5+ years of experience in end-to-end artwork management or packaging design, with development of print technical setups and approving color separation, preferably in FMCG, beauty, or a similar industry.
  • Expertise in artwork creation tools and pre-press tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat or ArtPro
  • Experience with workflow management systems (e.g. Esko, Dragon Fly, Blue) is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge and educational training in all packaging technologies and printing processes (e.g., flexographic, digital, or offset printing).
  • Strong expertise in creation of color separation, assessment of color samples /proofs, and pre-press troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in packaging and labeling.
  • Certification in project management or design tools (e.g. Adobe certification) is advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset to troubleshoot and resolve artwork-related challenges.
