Your Tasks
Aligned with Beiersdorf’s packaging guidelines and sustainability strategy, this role focuses on the development and implementation of packaging formats, with a strong emphasis on plastics as the primary conversion material. The incumbent is expected to independently drive development activities, leveraging deep expertise in mold design, validation, and processing technologies such as injection and blow molding.
The role requires effective collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders, along with the capability to design tertiary packaging solutions, including shipping boxes and pallets. A sound understanding of modeling and simulation principles is essential.
The candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, independently steering packaging-related deliverables from concept to execution.
Sustainability & Packaging Strategy
Drive regional packaging development initiatives aligned with global sustainability commitments, including the Global Plastics Pledge. Contribute to key sustainability pillars—reduce, reuse, recycle, and replace—by integrating recycled, renewable, and circular materials into packaging solutions.
Supplier & Sourcing Support
Partner with the Packaging Sourcing team to support supplier selection, qualification, auditing, and onboarding of regional and global suppliers. Leverage external networks, research institutions, and industry collaborations to identify emerging materials, technologies, and best practices.
Project Execution & Reporting
Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality execution of packaging development projects. Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and master data in relevant systems to ensure compliance, governance, and traceability.
Category & Consumer Insight
Own at least one low-complexity category, building a strong understanding of packaging technologies, business needs, and consumer insights. Translate consumer requirements into effective packaging solutions.
Technical Expertise & Capability Development
Apply hands-on expertise in molding processes, packaging engineering, design principles, and mold management. Evaluate and implement innovative and sustainable packaging materials and technologies. Proficiency in SolidWorks and similar modeling tools is required.
Workflow & Systems
Work across systems such as SAP, Clarity, Accolade, D2P, PMP, and Zeus. Act as a key user for SAP and engineering drawing workflows.
Organizational Contribution
Actively contribute to Indian R&D initiatives and cross-functional sustainability programs.
Your Profile
Technical & Industry Expertise
- Strong knowledge of material science and packaging technology.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in RIGID packaging development
- Additional know how and experience of shipping box & pallet designing
- Good understanding of the FMCG business environment and consumer-driven product development.
Communication & Collaboration
- Clear, confident, and effective communication skills across individual and group settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Analytical, Presentation & Project Management Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel with a structured, analytical, and logical approach.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver within defined timelines while managing constraints.
