R&D Engineer/Advanced Technician Raw Materials Management (all genders)

Your Tasks

This position offers you the opportunity to help shaping the IT digitization for raw materials topics in R&D and to manage raw materials groups independently.
The job is aimed at applicants who are interested in IT topics and raw materials and who want to shape the future proactively.

IT Digitization

  • For the R&D Raw Materials Information Systems (Teamcenter Raw Materials, DMS/G5, Power BI) you support the team in digital transformation topics:
  • You will provide recommendations for automation and digitalization of raw material processes and support the team leader in developing concepts.
  • You will support the needs assessment of data for the pledges (CO2 emissions, Net Zero, Controversial Ingredients) as well as Future Lab activities
  • For the implementation of the requirements, there is close cooperation and coordination with the affected specialist functions and the BSS
  • Existing master data from the IT systems is to be made available to R&D via Power BI reports in a way that is appropriate for the target group.

Manage raw material groups
For the raw material groups you manage, you will represent R&D interests in the Raw Materials Sourcing Teams (RMSTs).
You are responsible for the systematic, scientific processing of raw material groups. You evaluate raw materials and suppliers based on defined criteria and ensure the following activities in collaboration with Purchasing and QM:

  • Implementation of sustainability requirements (BDF Pledges: CO2 Emission, Net Zero).
  • Optimization of supply security through continuous minimization of risks
  • Recommendation and coordination of RMTs (Raw Material Tests) to be prioritized.
  • Independent processing of the release process for new raw materials

Ensure the necessary communication and exchange of all relevant information, especially within R&D (Category Teams, Scouting, Regulatory, Safety) and Purchasing and QM.
For the responsible raw material groups, you ensure the scientific documentation in reporting systems.

Your Profile

  • Completed scientific/technical training or scientific/technical studies
  • Experience in the development of cosmetics, preferably professional experience in product development and/or prototyping
  • Experience in project management, e.g. in sub-project management for innovation process or innovation projects
  • Systematic, structured approach to critically challenge established processes
  • Proactively contribute your analytical skills to the concept development process
  • Experience Power BI applications is advantageous
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Unfortunately, the position is not suitable for candidates with a PhD.

Hamburg/Germany is the primary location for this position. Therefore, we recommend residence in Hamburg.

Our company agreement allows basically up to 40% of the working time in a flexible work location in Germany. The exact arrangement of this agreement in the relevant team will be explained in a personal conversation.
